Kim acquired more than 28 years of experience in the energy industry, working as both an individual contributor and leader across engineering, operations management, asset management and project management.
He is passionate about continuous improvement and strongly believes that Lean principles can be applied to any team, in any industry, to achieve sustained high performance. Kim also recognises that effective leadership is fundamental to organisational transformation. He works with organisations to strengthen leadership capability, share practical knowledge and implement tailored business improvement solutions.
Drawing on his broad and diverse experience, Kim helps clients address a wide range of people and business challenges across strategic, tactical and operational environments. Having led continuous improvement programs at BHP over several years, he has extensive experience in Lean implementation, coaching leaders and developing empowered, high-performing teams that deliver measurable results.
In addition to deploying a new Lean operating system for one of the world’s largest resources companies, Kim has supported organisations to define their vision, convert it into long-term strategic objectives and translate those objectives into medium-term improvement priorities. Through Lean methodologies such as Hoshin Kanri, he has helped establish a clear “golden thread” linking strategic direction with operational execution.
